Commission a portrait
A commissioned portrait has the potential to delight throughout the generations and is an ideal investment. There are few acquisitions that can rival the aesthetic and economic value that a painted portrait offers either as a family heirloom or as part of a collection in a public or corporate setting.
THE PROCEDURE
Portrait commissions are approached with flexibility to accommodate the sitter. The following information will give you some idea of what may be involved.
An Initial meeting either at the artists studio or in your own environment
An oil study, drawings and thumbnail sketches are made to determine composition and to allow the artist to gain familiarity with the subject.
Six sittings or more are usually required. Photographs are used as an aid memoir if sitting for the portrait is not possible. (The artist is willing to travel - costs discussed and agreed).
On completion the artist will advise on framing.
