Film footage of the artist at work
Excerpts from two documentary films 'Alan Floods China' the story of 42ft-long painting titled ‘China’, is the largest painting by the artist to date. The 14 metre panels can be viewed here & 'Horsforth In the Snow' a short film of the artist working in his surrounding landscape.
Ted & Harry's first masterclass
Took place in the studio on the 24 May 2015. Their first project was to paint a new table top for one of our garden tables and as you can imagine we were a little nervous as to how our grandsons would take to this challenge at 18 months and 6 months of ages respectively.
All attempts to to introduce them to contemporary art theory/painting practise as a necessary prerequisite to producing a masterpiece, just fell on deaf ears. Also any mention of the American abstract painter Jackson Pollock & his concern for flatness & the picture plane invited ridicule & mockery.
In the end we decided to to let them put the theory stuff aside & have have their own playful encounter!
